Fog and life in Santa Monica

Today I drove down to Santa Monica to grab some food and take my new baby out into the world for the first time.

Yes, that's right, my new baby.

Didn't I tell you that I have a new baby??

She's adorable.

She barely makes a sound. I really feel fortunate.

My new baby Macbook.

I will say, the experience so far has been pretty cool.

Panera Bread has free wi-fi and outside of the girl in the corner yapping on her cell phone, it's been a pretty good experience. Must bring headphones next time.

Seriously though, fog in LA? Lately I've been feeling like I live in Seattle, not Los Angeles.

But I can't complain.

It's almost December and I'm not even wearing a jacket!!

Where else in the world can you live and say that??

$1.99 and stuff falling from the sky

What? I passed $1.99 gas today. I literally had to pinch myself as I thought I was dreaming. Yup, $1.99 gas right near the Grove.

That and what's this crazy stuff falling from the sky? I think I recall it...it's wet...something that starts with an "r" maybe...

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Looking forward to yummy eats at my cousin's!

Being thankful

So this week is Thanksgiving.

And this year, more than any before, I feel very thankful.

I have my health. And great friends. And pretty decent family.

I went back home about a month ago, back to Connecticut.

Being home always puts things in perspective for me.

I never realized it at the time but growing up and in general, living on the east coast is very difficult. Just having to deal with the weather each and every day makes life hard.

Living in Southern California can have its challenges also. The traffic, the smog, the people.

But really, just doing even simple things back east in the cold can be a HUGE hassle.

Traffic or bad weather?

I choose LA.
